A message from the PTA committee

We are the school’s first parent-led PTA and were founded in March 2013 when we took over from the Mawney Fundraisers who had successfully raised money for the school over many years. As parents, we think this school is brilliant! Our children are happy here and are thriving in their learning. The school has amazing teachers and support staff and Mr Brown is fantastically supportive. We all feel incredibly lucky for our children to come to this school.

Our main function is to raise extra funds for the school to enhance pupil’s learning and give them extra curricular experiences. In short, we want to help make The Mawney Foundation School an even better place for our children.

Every parent is automatically a member of the PTA – everyone is welcome and there are lots of ways you can join in and help the school. Don’t panic! It’s in no way compulsory but we are always in need of volunteers. Maybe you would like to be a regular committee member, give up an hour to run a stall, have a talent that the school could use, donate old uniform, books or toys or help with events such as the Easter egg hunt.  It’s a really good way of meeting new parents and friends and to find out more about what’s going on in school. Every year the school has a Christmas Fayre, Christmas and summer disco, Easter eggstravaganza event and a Summer Fayre. In between these staple events we will have lots of different events for families, children and adults including quiz nights, talent shows, pamper nights, craft competitions and anything else our caffeine fuelled meetings produce.  Our plan for this year will be to fund changes to the playground including new murals, plants for the garden and playground markers.

We hope to see you at our events in the future.
